TO FOLLOW THE CARIBOU

Size:  18.5 X 35.5
Medium:  Oil on Belgian Linen

Exhibition Schedule:  2009 The Art of Conservation
The Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum, Oradell, NJ

Artists's Comment: "During October 2008 I traveled with a group of fellow artists to the far interior of Labrador - 250 miles from the nearest road.
Our goal was to observe the surrounding landscapes and the wildlife that lived there.  In my painting "To Follow the Caribou" I was interested in the
abstract shapes of the trees along the top of this embankment.  Much of the land in Labrador's far north is open, covered only in low brush with cushions
of lichen, but there are also scattered patches of evergreens adding to the diversity of the landscape.
