ROYAL ALBATROSS APPROACHING LA…

Size: 46 X 52
Medium: Oil on Belgium Linen
Date: 2006

Exhibited: 2006 Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's "Birds in Art Exhibition" & national museums tour

Artist's Comments"
For me the gift of flight is what makes birds so fascinating, and the Royal Albatross is a phenomenal
creature to watch as it cruises the air currents above the vast ocean waters.  I observed these albatross in New Zealand
where a nesting colony lures them briefly back to earth from  their 11,000 mile wanderings upon 9 foot wingspans across
 the southern seas."
